Activities of Borrego Springs
There is so much to do and see in Borrego Springs. The beauty of the Anza Borrego Desert State Park – the largest state park in California – is at your doorstep! Five hundred miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas and miles of hiking trails provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the Californian Desert.
Named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish word borrego – or bighorn sheep – the park features wildflowers, palm groves, washes, cacti and sweeping vistas. Visitors may also have the chance to see roadrunners, golden eagles, mule deer and bighorn sheep as well as iguanas, chuckwallas, kit foxes and the red diamond rattlesnakes.
If golf is your game, Borrego Springs is also home to four beautiful public golf courses and two private golf clubs.
Tennis anyone? The Anza Borrego Tennis Center is just across the street!
Borrego Springs is also a noted artists’ community, boasting numerous art galleries and juried art exhibits and art shows throughout the year.
